Taco Bell Foundation announces scholarship application period

The Taco Bell Foundation has opened the application period for the Live Más Scholarship, offering up to $7 million in scholarships to ambitious students across the country, including more than $2 million specifically for members of the Taco Bell team, according to a press release.

Newly appointed Chief Impact Officer Lis Nas X helps kick-start implementation efforts. The recording artist is a former Taco Bell employee from the Atlanta area.

“Taco Bell has a really special place in my heart – ever since I worked there, I’ve always been amazed at the way they look for their teammates and fans,” said Lil Nas X. “I know there are a lot of young people like me taking unconventional paths to pursue their dreams, so I am very excited to play a role in making sure more of them know that Taco Bell has their backs when it comes to achieving those goals.”

Students between the ages of 16 and 26 are encouraged to apply for the passion-based scholarship. The app is funky and only requires a 2-minute video. The application period will end on January 11, 2022, and the winners will be announced in Spring 2022. Prizes are $5,000, $10,000 or $25,000 per student.

The Taco Bell Foundation will award more than $2 million to members of the Taco Bell team who have been part of the Taco Bell family for at least 30 consecutive days. The previous 90-day hiring requirement has been reduced to 30 days to encourage scholarship applications among team members and motivate potential job candidates. In addition to scholarships for team members, the Taco Bell Foundation will provide up to $5 million in new, renewable scholarships to students nationwide.
