Jammu, November 29: Continuing its endeavor to provide financial support to the martyred and deceased Policemen in pursuing education, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has approved a scholarship of Rs 2.45 lakh for the wards of the Deceased Police Personnel.
The grant was approved for the benefit of 49 wards of deceased police personnel who died on duty due to natural and accidental deaths. The scholarship of Rs 5,000 each was penalized for the benefit of nine divisions taught in primary classes, 10 divisions taught in middle classes, 14 divisions taught in upper secondary classes, 12 divisions taught in upper secondary classes and four divisions are pursuing graduation for the academic year 2020-21. The scholarship was awarded by the Central Police Welfare Fund.
On the other hand, the General Directorate of Police also honored two newly promoted officials of the police headquarters with the rank of assistant sub-inspector in a simple ceremony held here.
The promoted officials are Vinay Dutta and Rajinder Kumar. AIG (P) from PHQ Ramesh Angraal was present on the occasion.
The DGP advised the officials to work hard and always live up to people’s expectations. He wished good luck to the promoters and extended his warm regards to their families as well.
