Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Academy has awarded Sam D. Robinson IV a Dan Feather Memorial Scholarship of $1,000. He attends Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Academy at Jamestown Community College. He is from Jamestown, graduated from Jamestown Community College, and serves in the United States Army Reserve. He is currently the assistant coach of the Jayhawk men’s basketball team at Jamestown Community College. He was accepted into the Sharif Academy in August 2021.

The Dan Feather Memorial Scholarship was established by Verna Feather, the widow of Dan Feather, an 18-year veteran of the Jamestown Police Department. The recipient must be a Chautauqua County resident, attend a Sheriff’s Academy, and possess qualities that reflect the professionalism and character demonstrated by Dan Feather during his service as a police officer. The Sam Scholarship is the 24th scholarship awarded.

Ms. Feather hopes this scholarship will be a lasting reminder of Dan Feather and also help those who are just beginning to pursue a career in policing. The scholarship is administered through the Chautauqua District Community Foundation.
