Calhoun Community College opens scholarship applications

Individuals will only need to submit one application which will be used to determine the scholarships for which the applicant qualifies.

Huntsville, Ala. – Calhoun Community College announced Tuesday that the scholarship application process for the 2021-2022 academic year is now open.

The school says it is willing to award $500.00 in scholarship funding to students. Jonette Davis, director of the Calhoun Foundation, said the process has been streamlined to help students qualify for multiple forms of financial aid.

Individuals will only need to submit one application which will be used to determine the scholarships for which the applicant qualifies.

“We talk a lot about how important a college education is, but sometimes we fail to talk about how important it is not to go into debt to get it,” Davis commented. “At Calhoun, we talk a lot about this as we strive to provide quality education to our students at a fraction of the price of many other institutions,” Davis said.

The college says hundreds of scholarships go without approval each year due to a lack of applications. Those wishing to apply for scholarships must begin the process by applying for admission to the college through the Admissions Office. Next, Calhoun says students should submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form immediately. Finally, students will then be able to submit their scholarship application through Calhoun Community College.
